Dear Federal Government

This site is dedicated to raising awareness, regarding the recurring floods that occur in the Passaic River Basin located in New Jersey.

There are over thirty different townships in New Jersey that are affected by this problem, which has led to devastating losses amassed over the years. Most recently there have been four major floods in just the past seven years. Two of these floods occurred within the same year, April 2005 and October 2005. With regard to future flooding there are solutions that can be put into place. The Army Corps of Engineers have already conducted and completed several studies which offer various solutions to the flooding problem, but all solutions require state and federal action to be taken by our legislators. We are requesting action from government agencies to move forward in providing relief to our area and to aid in the prevention of future flooding. Whether it be the revival of an already existing plan, such as the Main Stem (Tunnel) project as outlined in WRDA, or the development of a new plan to provide both immediate and long-term relief. We are calling for the state of New Jersey and the Federal government to move forward with measures that will bring about a resolution to this problem.
